It is always red and of all Ports the one with the longest aging potential. This long aging potential results from the complex and concentrated grapes used in its production. It is very dark in color, rich in tannins, with a lot of body and structure and intense both in the nose and on the palate. It is bottled unfiltered to preserve all the elements that can support long aging in the bottle. Dark purple in its youth, the red color becomes lighter over time. However, it takes several decades, if not even a century, for the brown nuances to emerge. The fruit aromas remain throughout the entire life of the Vintage Port. In the early stage it is fresher, over time more dried fruit aromas emerge. For most Port collectors and lovers, Vintage Port is the most prized Port. It is made in small quantities. The annual production rarely exceeds 1% of the total Port production. And that is only justified by the fact that we need a combination of factors: excellent weather conditions in the best locations to grow grapes in the Douro. It is not about quantity, but about putting the best of the best in the bottle, so that we or the next generation can enjoy it. In the best harvests, our Vintage Port will contain grapes from the different quintas, to retain as much complexity as the best grapes can produce. This was the case, for example, in the years 2005, 2007 or 2011. There are other years in which perfection was not achieved in all the vineyards. But if we have received grapes in our flagship and most consistent quinta, Vale d'Agodinho, under perfect conditions and with excellent quality that, in our opinion, will result in a wonderful Vintage Port, then we bottle a so-called Single Quinta Vintage Port. This is the case, for example, with the vintages 2008, 2010 or 2013. Drink it young if you want to enjoy the freshness and intensity of the best Port, or wait a few years, then you will experience elegance, complexity and harmony in a bottle of Port.

Producer: Quevedo - Quinta da Sra. do Rosário, 5130-326 S.
