Complex. Vibrant. Limited to 1,682 bottles.
Only 1,682 bottles – that is all that exists of the Desviso Arinto 2023. The Portuguese boutique winery Vinhos Desviso has once again created a wine that will not disappoint connoisseurs: vinified as a single variety from the noble Arinto grape, crafted to the last detail, and free from any industrial influence.
Natural vinification – from hand-harvesting to the cellar
The foundation of this wine is laid in the vineyard: During the careful hand-harvesting, a strict selection takes place – only the best fruit finds its way into the cellar. Fermentation takes place exclusively with wild, vineyard-native yeasts and without any outside intervention. 70% of the must ferments in a cement tank, the remaining 30% in used French oak barrels – a deliberate interplay of two worlds.
Complex maturation, giving time to what needs time
What gives the Arinto 2023 its remarkable depth is the care of its maturation: For over ten months, the wine matures 44% in used French oak barrels and 56% in stainless steel tanks. Then, the entire batch harmonizes in the tank for another three months – until everything comes together into a harmonious whole. The result is a white wine with a delicate melt, lively freshness, and a structure that impresses.
Authenticity without compromise
Like all wines from Vinhos Desviso, the Arinto 2023 is also matured without fining, without filtration, and without artificial stabilization. What is in the bottle is the pure, unadulterated expression of the grape and its origin.
(Note: Natural production can form a fine deposit in the bottle over time – not a flaw, but the unmistakable sign of an honestly made wine.)
