Only the most skilled workers master the tricky technique of removing the main bones of the sardine with a few precise movements and a pair of tweezers without damaging the flesh.
This way, the sardine is not filleted and the flesh remains juicy when fried.
A collection consists of 1 can of each:
- Boneless sardines in extra virgin olive oil
- Boneless sardines in extra virgin olive oil and lemon
- Boneless sardines in extra virgin olive oil and tomato
However, for the sake of enjoyment, they should by no means miss out on the many other great creations from the incomparably rich range of flavors offered by canned sardines: sardines in fruity sauce, in white wine, in butter, with water and lemon … Try them!
The sardine is still today the focal point of many port cities in Brittany, but also in Spain and Portugal.
It is not considered an endangered species.
