Moreish is the personal project of Luís Lopes – a winemaker who worked at Comtes Lafon in Burgundy and spent ten years at Quinta da Pellada.
The name comes from a Portuguese expression for particularly delicious drinks that leave you wanting more.
These four wines deliver exactly that – each in its own way.
The collection consists of one bottle each of:
Moreish Branco 2023 – Luís Lopes Vinhos
Single-varietal, spontaneously fermented, honest. This white wine from the Dão is a pure reflection of its origin – no makeup, no compromises. Luís Lopes lets the grapes speak: fresh fruit, lively acidity, a wine that simply flows. For those who know that simplicity is the highest form of art.
White · Portugal, Dão · Spontaneous fermentation · Minimal intervention
Moreish Green Label – Bical 2023 – Luís Lopes Vinhos
Bical is Luís Lopes' great passion in the Bairrada – and this wine explains why. Made from 11-year-old vines on a steep limestone slope, spontaneously fermented and aged on the lees for ten months, it develops a fine texture, stony minerality, and a delicate saltiness on the finish. Unfiltered, straight from the tank. Only 2,000 bottles.
White · Portugal, Bairrada · 100% Bical · 12% ABV · 2,000 bottles
Moreish Pelicular White 2023 – Luís Lopes Vinhos
An orange wine that doesn't want to be one – and that is exactly what makes it so captivating. Maria Gomes from rare blue marl soils in the Bairrada, made with skin contact, golden, aromatically complex, yet elegantly restrained. Pollen, yellow fruit, a round palate with a fresh flash on the finish. 92 points Robert Parker.
Orange Wine · Portugal, Bairrada · 100% Maria Gomes (Fernão Pires) · Skin contact
Moreish Black Label – Garnacha Común 2021 – Luís Lopes Vinhos
The Rayas of Extremadura – that is what Luís Lopes himself calls this wine, not without a wink. Garnacha from vines planted in 2016 on clay and limestone, harvested at night, fermented in raw concrete, and aged for 24 months in large French oak barrels. Explodes on the nose with ripe raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Juicy, full-bodied, astonishingly fresh at 14.5%. A wine for special moments – and with only 1,300 bottles, a rare opportunity.
Red · Spain, Tierra de Extremadura · 100% Garnacha Común · 14.5% ABV · 1,300 bottles
