On July 14, the French national holiday, we don't sing "aux armes, citoyens!" but rather much more peacefully, fraternally, and sisterly "auf fourchettes, les copains!" (to your forks, friends!) and, in keeping with the occasion, fire up the grill to celebrate the day.
We'll be grilling merguez and French sausages, as well as delicious vegetarian alternatives. To wash it all down, there will be pastis and wine, just as it should be.
