The wild boar is one of the fetish animals of hunters.
The legendary N°08 size knife is available with a laser-engraved wild boar motif.
It is the most versatile in the collection. Due to its size and weight, it is a valued everyday tool.
The 8.5 cm long blade has very good cutting properties, and the wooden handle fits well in the hand. The Virobloc® locking system additionally secures the blade.
Oak is a hard wood that is very resistant, especially to insects and fungi, thanks to the high tannin content. It comes from French forestry and has a brown-yellow appearance with a straight and regular grain. The handle is lacquered to protect it from moisture and dirt.
The modified Sandvik stainless steel 12C27 was adjusted for Opinel and is known for its sharpness and easy maintenance. The stainless steel was subjected to a heat treatment called Martensite, which gives it a very high lifespan. The carbon content is at least 0.40%, which achieves a very satisfactory sharpness, but at the same time does not create corrosion sensitivity. Blade hardness 57-59 HRC.
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel. It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
This knife does not belong in the dishwasher!
