In mid-July, Philippe and his wife Evi were in Portugal once again. Their main reason was to attend the Vinho ao Vivo wine fair in Porto, but of course, the two of them discovered and experienced much more.

By now, we are known for our sardines, but the sea has so much more to offer! That is why on Friday, October 21, we will be tasting together the fine sardines, mussels and other seafood from Ramon Peña in Spain, which we consider to be among the best of their kind. For the Kabel Eins show "Abenteuer Leben", I went in search of the secret of the luxury oyster on the French Atlantic coast in July and took a closer look at the "spéciales Guillardeau". Of course, I also tried the fine shellfish, which turned into a personal confrontation therapy with a very happy ending for me. In early October, we had the pleasure of traveling to Brittany to get to the bottom of the phenomenon of the year-round sardine. We visited the Conserverie Gonidec in Concarneau, from whom we source the excellent sardines "Les Mouettes d'Arvor". We were also allowed to go out on a sardine cutter and watch the real fishermen over their shoulder during their nightly endeavor ...
